Mr. Jet Pilot is the second single from Mystery Math’s new single series and their most ambitious to date, forgoing their typical dual guitar interplay and live drum sound, and venturing into the realms of synth pop.

Written in October of 2022 and brought to life in the studio in early 2023, this song has the fun distinction of the Mellotron and drums being recorded in one take, and went on to remain untouched throughout the months of additional recording.

The most surprising change is the addition of vocals from drummer, Greg Evangelista, who steps aside from the drums on this one and lets the atmosphere prevail.

A driving, propulsive bass line takes center stage and floats through layers of Farfisa, Mellotron, guitar, harmonica and… lots of reverb.
